Emerginov project has been incubated in OW2 for 3 years. This PHP PaaS had 3 main goals: - provide a technical open source multimedia solution for innovation in Africa - federate a community of African innovators - build a library of business services in open sources matching African needs The presentation deals with this specific innovation ecosystem and the lessons learned from the creation of the African community. It details the different steps that we performed to become a reference innovative platform in the area: the hackathons, webinars, innovation forum. It also provides some assets on the difficulties related to this local environment and the need for a cloud ready solution for the main actors.
