Pascal Jakobi is a software veteran, having worked for more than twenty years in the field of open systems and distributed, secure applications. Starting his career at HP in the late 80’s, he was exposed to the promises of UNIX very early. He then combined this knowledge with an active involvement in distributed applications, heavily involved in the field of directories (X.500 then LDAP) and PKIs. From there, the next logical step was to get involved in the Open Source movement - he was a Red Hat employee for a while -both on the Linux/infrastructure side and the new protocols that emerge in the web 2.0 context (mostly XACML, but also SAML, etc.). He currently works for Thales as a security architect/technical strategist.
